Memorial services for Elizabeth "Betsy" Howe Gregory of Lansing, Kansas, will be held at 11 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Family graveside services will be held in Spencer at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, Oct.15, 2007, at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Wendy Van Tassell of the First Congregational Church of Spencer will officiate.

Betsy was born March 19, 1942, to Bob and Helen (Bjornstad) Howe and passed away on Sept. 8, 2007, at her home in Lansing, Kansas. Betsy was born and raised in Spencer. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1960. She was Spencer's first Relays Queen. During her high school years, she was active in high school drama.

Betsy was married to Larry Gregory on Aug. 13, 1960, at the First Congregational Church in Spencer. They spent their lives together in Missouri and Kansas, where she supported her husband in his manufacturing business and volunteered in several organizations. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Congregational Church in Spencer and was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Betsy also served for several terms on the Lansing, Kansas City Council.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; and an infant son. Betsy is survived by her husband, Larry of Lansing, Kan.; her brothers: Tom Howe and wife, Katie, and Brad Howe and wife, Janice Howe -- all of Spencer; and her sister-in-law, Dove Ann Rittman of Excelsior Springs, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
