Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Keiser, 102, of Spencer, was held Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Warner Chapel of Spencer. Revs. Tom and Wendy Van Tassell officiated the service.

Interment took place at North Lawn Memorial Park of Spencer.

Ruth passed away Friday, Sept. 28 at St. Luke Lutheran Home of Spencer.

Ruth Loretta Keiser, the daughter of Edmond and Elizabeth (Michels) Keiser, was born Dec. 20, 1904, in Early. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1924. She continued her education at Buena Vista College and later Cedar Falls Teacher's College where she received her teaching certificate.

After her schooling, Ruth returned to Spencer where she vividly remembered the Spencer Fire and it's aftermath. She worked as a clerk at Younker's and Feldman's in Spencer throughout her life. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Spencer. She was also a 50-year member of the Agnes Felt Guild, member of the Order of the Eastern Star and sang in the Clay County Chorus. She entered St. Luke Lutheran Home in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Earl Kaiser.

Ruth is survived by two cousins: Austin and Marilyn Keiser of Lake View, and Martha Patterson of Algona.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
