Funeral services for Vesta Roskammer, 89, of Hartley, will be held at 2 p.m., today, Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Rev. Jeff Filkins will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery of Harley.

A time of lunch and fellowship will be held at Red's Cafe in Hartley following the graveside services.

Vesta passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, at Spencer Hospital.

Vesta Velva Roskammer, the daughter of Milford and Edna (Frick) Sass, was born July 5, 1918, in Hartley. Her childhood years were spent in Hartley, where she received her education.

Vesta was united in marriage to John F. Roskammer on April 9, 1936, in Luverne, Minn. They made their home in Hartley, where she was a homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Hartley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a sister, Pearl Steffens; and her brother-in-law, Ray Steffens.

Vesta is survived by one daughter, Jeraldine "Jerri" Jean and her husband, Jerry Wittrock of Urbana, Mo.; and one grandson.

Warner Funeral Home of Hartley is in charge of arrangements.
