Services for Mildred May Jebsen, 95, of Sutherland, were held Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, at Bethel Lutheran Church of Sutherland. Rev. LeRoy Riemer officiated the service.

Interment took place at Waterman Cemetery of Sutherland.

On Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, Mildred passed away at her home in Sutherland.

Mildred May Jebsen, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Johansen) Dau, was born Jan. 28, 1912, in Sutherland. Her childhood years were spent in Melvin where she received her education.

On July 12, 1933, Mildred was united in marriage to Eddie Jebsen in Melvin. Following their marriage they resided in Sutherland. Mildred was a homemaker, who stayed at home to raise their family. She eventually went to work as a cook for the Sutherland Elementary School in 1964 until her retirement in 1977.

Mildred was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. She was also a Lamplighter at Bethel, did braille work for many years, and was a charter member of the Concordia Couples Club and Bethel Helping Hand.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Jebsen; her parents; two sisters: Verna Michael and Irene Glawe; and one brother, Chester Dau.

Mildred is survived by two daughters: Euena Hill and husband, Richard of Robins, and Beverly Galles and husband, Clair of Cedar Falls; one son, Dennis Jebsen and wife, Carol of Forney, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Warner Funeral Home of Sutherland.
