Memorial services for Mr. James Herrill, 54 of Spencer, formerly of Underwood, will be held at 1 p.m., today, Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007 at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Rev. Chuck Kellogg will officiate the service.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the services at Warner Funeral Home.

Interment will occur at a later date.

James passed away at home in Spencer on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007.

James Walter Herrill, the son of Walter and Ruth (Tallman) Herrill, was born April 26, 1953, in Council Bluffs. His childhood years were spent on a farm near Underwood, where he received his education, graduating from Underwood High School.

Following his schooling, he farmed on the family farm for several years. In 2001, he moved to Spencer, where he worked for National Spencer, Inc. until the time of his death. He was a lifelong member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church in McClelland.

His parents preceded him in death.

James is survived by one son, Leland and his fiancÚ, Sabrina Adams of Spencer; one daughter, Nicole Herrill of Council Bluffs; one grandchild; and three sisters: Ellen Nelson of Seattle, Wash., Jean Polansky of Aurora, Colo., and Marge Dietrich of Omaha, Neb.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
