Private family services for Mrs. Betty Dailey, 76, of Spencer, will take place at a later date.

Rev. Scott Meier will officiate the interment at North Lawn Memorial Park of Spencer.

Betty passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at Longhouse Residence of Spencer.

Betty Barbara (Bang) Dailey, the daughter of Harold and Asta (Miller) Bang, was born July 10, 1931, in Spencer. She was christened and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church. She received her education in Spencer and graduated from Spencer High School in 1949.

Betty was married at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Berkeley, California, in 1949 to Bill E. Dailey of Spencer. The couple continued to live in various cities throughout California while Mr. Dailey served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1966. When he retired from the military, the family returned to Spencer in 1967.

Although the couple remained lifelong friends, they divorced in 1976. Betty returned to California, living in "Silicon Valley" from 1977-86, before moving to Colorado Springs, Colo., from 1986-90, when she returned to Spencer.

Betty was an accomplished artist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an older brother, Harold; and her only son, Mark.

Betty is survived by two daughters: Andrea Dailey of Spencer, and Darcy Eich and her husband, Dave of Sheldon; two grandchildren; and her brother, Jon Bang and his wife, Judy of Peterson..

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
