Phyllis Conlon Christiansen, 82, of Spencer, passed away Aug. 29, 2007 at St. Luke's Lutheran Home.
Family graveside services will be held 11 a.m., today, Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Humboldt.
Phyllis Collins, the daughter of John and Lillie (Luethje) Collins, was born Aug. 24, 1925 at Hartley. As a child, she moved with her family to Dakota City where she received her education. Following her education, Phyllis was employed in a bank in Humboldt. She married Cyril "Bud" Conlon and the family made their home in various communities while Bud worked as a salesman. Phyllis raised her four children in Spencer where she was employed as the bookkeeper for Nylrem Industries for many years until her retirement.
In 1982, she married Leo Christiansen and the couple made their home in Spencer. Mr. Christiansen passed away in 1999. Phyllis continued to maintain her home in Spencer until becoming a resident of the St. Luke's Lutheran Home three years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; stepson, Gary Christiansen; two sisters; and one brother.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Cheryl A. Noble and Lon of Spirit Lake, John T. Conlon, Donald Conlon and wife, Laurie -- all of Spencer, and Michael Conlon and wife, Barb of Washington State; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren with another due in March; and step children: Dr. Wayne C. Christiansen of Tiverton, R.I., Kim Ryan of Dallas Center, and Leann Nelson of Greenfield.
The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of arrangements.
