Funeral services for Lillian Lorenz, 87, of Spencer, formerly of Dickens, will be held at 11 a.m. at Dickens Cemetery. Rev. Michael Sharp will officiate the service.
There will be no visitation.
Interment will take place at Dickens Cemetery.
Lillian passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at St. Luke Lutheran Home of Spencer.
Lillian, the daughter of Nicholas and Susan (Macnair) Voogd was born March 31, 1920, in Sheridan, Wyo. Her childhood years were spent in Sheridan where she received her education.
On June 10, 1937, Lillian was united in marriage to George Lorenz in Sheridan, where they lived a couple of years before moving to a farm in rural Dickens. After living near Dickens for several years, Lillian and George built their own home.
Lillian was a dedicated wife and mother. She was a homemaker who helped with the everyday farm work. They owned Lorenz Antique Shop for over 30 years from their farm in Dickens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter; one grandson; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; five brothers; and three sisters.
Lillian is survived by three daughters: Jean Berends and husband, Archie of Everly, Judy Frerichs and husband, Darrell of Ruthven, Sally Jepsen and husband, Pete of Terril; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gertrude Voogd; two sisters-in-law: Ruth Hanson and Wadena Lorenz -- both of Spencer; and one brother-in-law, Lee Lorenz and wife, Gertrude of Milford.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Spencer Public Library to assist in purchasing books to assist the blind.
