Funeral services for Edna Mae Posthumus, 70, of Sheldon, will be held at 10:30 a.m., today, Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at the First Reformed Church of Sheldon. Rev. David Brower and Rev. Gordon Bloemendaal officiaiting.

Interment will take place at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.

Edna passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Prairie View Home in Sanborn.

Edna, daughter of Gerrit and Bena (Holtrop) Posthumus, was born on July 1, 1937, in Sanborn. At an early age she moved to Sheldon, where she attended the Sheldon Schools.

In her younger years she was a baby-sitter, dishwasher, and a waitress. She worked for a few years at the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon. Edna was employed at the Sheldon High School, for 24 years, as a custodian, before she retired.

Edna was a baptized and professing member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one niece, Lorraine Joyce Posthumus.

Edna is survived by her brother, Marion Posthumus and wife, Joyce of Spencer; and sister, Betty Kleinhesselink and husband, Gary of Orange City.
