Interment took place at Highland Cemetery in Bayard.
Wilma passed away on Friday, July 27, 2007, at Spencer Hospital.
Casket bearers were Zach Plagman, Shawn Andreasen, Garret Andreasen, Jaden Erb, David Trapp Biersma and Mike.
Honorary bearers were Marty Erb, Todd Bishop, Troy Krukow and Westly Erb.
Wilma, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Schwartze) Garnes was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Bayard. Her childhood years were spent in Bayard where she received her education.
On May 28, 1942, Wilma was united in marriage to DuWayne Erb in St. Joseph, Mo. Following their marriage they lived in the Des Moines area until moving to Spencer, IA in 1962.
Wilma was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her time raising her family. She was an active member of Day Spring Assembly of God Church. She loved to share the Word of God with everyone she met. Wilma volunteered in the nursing home ministry and taught Sunday school for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Kathy; one brother, Loren Garnes; and two sisters: Lavonne Mozena and Verna Clark.
Wilma is survived by her husband, DuWayne Erb of Spencer; one son, Barry Erb and wife, Barb of Minneapolis, Minn.; five daughters: Sharon Daggett and husband, Dave of Minburn, Connie Biersma and husband, John of Earlham, Peggy Andreasen and husband, Chuck of Rembrandt, Vicky Plagman and husband, Randy of Spencer, and Jennifer Newgard and husband, John of Laurens; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lester Garnes and wife, Kathryn of Coon Rapids; and one sister, Lula Garnes of Bayard.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
