Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Mathilda Mundt, 97, of Spencer, formerly of Everly,will be held at 10:30 a.m., today, Friday, July 27, 2007, at Hope Lutheran Church of Everly. Rev. Annette K. Ruhls Kruse will officiate.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.

Casket bearers will be Richard Kirksey, Richard Kirksey Sr., Barry Birkholz, Jim Mills, Scott Mundt and Glenn Roos.

Interment will be at Lone Tree Cemetery of Everly.

Alice passed away Monday, July 23, 2007, at St. Luke Lutheran Home of Spencer.

Alice, the daughter of John and Sophie (Wede) Peters was born Dec. 11, 1909, in Everly. Her childhood years were spent in Everly where she received her schooling, graduating from Everly High School. Following graduation Alice attended and graduated from the Minneapolis School of Beauty Culture in 1928. Alice owned and operated the Everly Beauty Shop where she was a beautician.

On Dec. 3, 1930, Alice was united in marriage to Walter Mundt in Everly. Following their marriage Alice worked at home raising their family.

Alice was an active community member in Everly. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was active in numerous church circles and women's groups.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; three brothers; and one infant son.

Alice is survived by one son, Gerald Mundt and wife, Elaine of Warwick, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Everly is in charge of arrangements.
