Rev. Roger Maize will officiate the service;
Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery in Peterson at a later date.
Honorary bearers will be Jacob Schoening, Ben Anderson, Stephanie Schoening, Shawn Syndergaard, the late Adam Anderson, Alison Syndergaard, Leigh Winterboer, Chelsea Winterboer, Fallon Schneider and Jacob Schneider.
Paul passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center of Sioux City after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle accident.
Paul, the son of Doyle and Lela (Struve) Anderson, was born June 4, 1954, in Spencer. His childhood years were spent in the Linn Grove area, where he received his education, graduating from Sioux Valley Community High School. Following his schooling, he worked in Hartley at the packing plant for one year, until returning home to help his dad in farming.
Paul married JoAnn Winterboer on July 5, 1974, at the Maple Grove Church near Sutherland. Following their marriage, they moved back to a farm east of Sioux Rapids and later moved to a farm near Linn Grove. In 1977, they moved to the town of Peterson and he continued to farm. For the last five years, he worked part-time for Wilbert Vault Company.
Paul was a board member of the Little Sioux Country Club, was a past member of the Peterson Jaycees, served on the original committee to bring cable T.V. to Peterson, was a member of the Peterson Ambulance Crew, where he also helped the crew get a new ambulance through applying for grant money. He was also active as a little league and high school baseball umpire and coach and was chosen to umpire CABA at the Aurelia Little League World Series. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Linn Grove.
He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle; and a nephew, Adam Anderson.
Paul is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Peterson; two daughters: Venus Anderson of Omaha, Neb., and Rena Anderson of Des Moines; one grandson; a sister, Elaine Schoening and her husband, Martin of Linn Grove; and three brothers: Doug Anderson and his wife, Darlene of Hulberg, Okla., David Anderson of Storm Lake, and Duane Anderson of Webb.
Warner Funeral Home of Peterson is in charge of arrangements.
