Funeral services for Mr. Dale Allan Pomeroy, 54, of Ruthven, will be held at 1:30 p.m., today, Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Zion Lutheran Church of Ayrshire. Rev. Ryan Clark will officiate the service.

Casket bearers will be Jim Caskey, David Rigby, Bob Goff, Harlan Leininger, Terry Klooster and Ed Noonan.

Interment will take place at Silver Lake Cemetery of Ayrshire.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

Dale, was born Feb. 5, 1953, in Fort Dodge. His early years of life where spent in Laurens where he received his early education in Laurens and attended Ayrshire Consolidated School where he graduated from high school. He then went on to Iowa Tech and graduated with high honors with a meat cutter degree.

On June 21, 1980, Dale married Brenda Lea Simpson and from this union, three sons were born: Casey, Shayne and Calvin. Dale worked various jobs, from being a meat cutter at Joyce's Foods to selling Electrolux vacuums. He also helped his dad in his carpentry work and later in life due to his failing health, he lent a helping hand to Uncle Weiner by mowing and pushing snow and being Ed's extra hand.

On June 30, 2007, Dale passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident in Gillett Grove.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bob Bowman; grandparents: Herb and Mary Mohr and Kenneth and Grace Pullen.

Dale is survived by his wife, Brenda Pomeroy of Ruthven; his three boys: Casey Pomeroy and his wife, Tonya, and Shayne Pomeroy -- all of Woodbine, and Calvin Pomeroy of Ruthven; one grandsonn; his "ma", Marilyn Bowman of Fairmont, Minn.; sister and brothers: Sherry Clark and Larry of Spencer, Gayle Zoch and Steve of Fairmont, Minn., Coleen Caskey and Jim of Spencer, Pam Bolte of Rembrant, Dan Pomeroy and Alice of Laurens, Doreen Sawyer of Estherville, and David Pomeroy and Heath Pomeroy.
