Pearl Adolf, 82, of Sanborn, formerly of May City, passed away Friday, June 15, 2007 at Prairie View Home in Sanborn.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, June 21, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church in May City. Rev. Paul Johnson will officiate the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial will be at Harrison Township Cemetery in May City.

Casket bearers will include Marc Anderson, Chad Centner, Harland Centner, Shawn Centner, DeLoy Adolf and Kevin Adolf.

Pearl Bernice Adolf, the daughter of John and Elsie (Habeck) Runge, was born March 20, 1925 near George. Following the death of her parents, she made her home with Harman and Hannah Stamp in the May City area. She was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in May City.

She married Daryl Adolf on Dec. 23, 1945 at St. John's Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in May City until after his death. Mrs. Adolf moved to Sanborn in 1992.

Mrs. Adolf was a longtime member of the St. John's Ladies Aid and the Altar Guild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl; son, Lonnie; parents, John and Elsie; foster parents, Herman and Hannah Stamp; two brothers: Elmer and Herman Runge; three brothers-in-law: Donald Harms, DeForrest Adolf and Arthur Steinke.

Pearl Adolf is survived by her daughter, Shelley Klaver, and her husband, Tim, of Sanborn; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Rosella Harms of Lake Park; sister-in-law, Pearl Steinke of Spencer; brother-in-laws: Dale Adolf and his wife, Shirley, of Everly, Derry Adolf and his wife, Mary Ann, of Harris; other friends and relatives.
