Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jane Enger, 85, of Spencer, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at First Congregational Church of Spencer. Rev. Deb Mechler will officiate the service.

Casket bearers will be Nathan Enger, Tim Brinkley, Bob Rose, Jim Morony, Dean Saunders and Don Bartlett.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery of Spencer.

Betty passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Spencer Hospital.

Betty, the daughter of Henry Alfred and Edna Mani Bacher Fritzsche, was born on Jan. 29, 1922, in Burlington. Betty received her early education in Burlington and graduated from the Burlington High School in 1940.

Betty married Paul Walter Enger on Sept. 6, 1942, in Burlington.  Following their marriage, they moved to St. Paul, Minn. where they lived for three years.  In 1948, they moved to Spencer.  She was a very active member of the First Congregational Church.  She was also a member of P.E.O.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul on April 21, 2006; one sister, Mildred Hawkens; and one brother, Bud Fritzsche.

Betty is survived by her three sons: Ronald Enger and his wife, Nancy of Medford, Ore., Christopher Enger and his wife, Natalie of Wayzata, Minn., and Gregg Enger of Plymouth, Minn.; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
