Marlyn 'Bud' Brueggeman

Marlyn "Bud" Brueggeman, 82, of Lake Park, formerly of Harris, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Lake Park Care Center in Lake Park.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Lake Park. Rev. Gerald Gauthier officiated the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in Union Cemetery in Harris.

Casket bearers included Wade Brueggeman, Jonathan Brueggeman, Joshua Brueggeman, Kyle Brueggeman, Nate Brueggeman and Ron Rubsam.

Mr. Brueggeman, the son of Henry and Maggie (Ihnen) Brueggeman, was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Worthington, Minn. and received his early education in Harris.

Mr. Brueggeman was united in marriage to Marjorie Gould on July 6, 1949, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Harris. The couple made their home outside of Harris, where they farmed. The Brueggemans moved to Lake Park in 1975.

Mr. Brueggeman was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Harris, where he was a past treasurer. He was also a member and past president of the Osceola County Cattle Feeders and a founding member of the Iowa Corn and Soybean Association. Mr. Brueggeman was also a two-time Minnesota State Tractor Pulling Champion.

Mr. Brueggeman was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Gee Dee Brueggeman.

Marlyn "Bud" Brueggeman is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Lake Park; children: Steve Brueggeman and his wife, Linda, Al Brueggeman and his wife, Judy, Brian Brueggeman and his wife, Laurie; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other family and friends.
