Steven Lyle Langholz, 51, of Spencer passed away Sunday, June 10, 2007, at Spencer Municipal Hospital.
A private prayer service was held with all his loved ones at his side. There will be no burial as per his wishes The body will be cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
Steve was born Oct. 8, 1955, in Primghar, Iowa, the son of Lyle and Marlys (Camarigg) Langholz, the fourth of eight children. He was raised in rural Primghar and graduated from Primghar High School in 1974. He attended Pipestone Area Vocational Technical Center in Pipestone, Minn., for meat cutting/market management, graduating in 1986.
He married Teri Griep on June 23, 1984, in Sioux City. Although they later divorced, they remained life long trusted friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Langholz; his maternal grandparents, Chris and Amanda (Zeglin) Camarigg; and paternal grandparents, Hye and Hilda (Stamer) Langholz.
Steven is survived by his mother, Marlys Langholz of Spencer; three sisters: Patsy Martin and husband, Michael of Phoenix, Ariz., Mary Jo Valentine and husband, Coit of Colorado, and Lori Lynn Ahrend and husband, Kirk of Council Bluffs; four brothers: Ricky Langholz of Paullina, Mark Langholz and his wife, Sue of Spencer, Neil Langholz and his wife, April of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Eric Langholz of Spencer; and his former wife, Teri of Sioux City.
