Edith May Range

Funeral services for Edith May Range, 96, of Milford, were held Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Union Memorial Church of Milford. Rev. Bob Butterfield officiated the service.

Interment took place at North Lawn Cemetery of Spencer.

Pallbearers were Teresa Bachman, Kevin Range, Tim Bachman, Mike Range, Lisa Johnson, Craig Smith and Lori York.

Honorary bearers were Mick and Bonnie Umschei, and Katie Lage.

Edith passed away Monday, May 21, 2007, at the Milford Nursing Center where she has been a resident since December of 2002.

Edith, the daughter of Bert and Anna (Swarner) Wilson was born in Westport Township on Oct. 12, 1910. She graduated from the eighth grade at Westport Township School No. 1 and graduated high school from Okoboji Township Consolidated School in 1928. She continued her education that summer in Estherville. Later she worked for A.E. Anderson in Spencer.

On June 10, 1931 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Range at her parents home. They lived on the Range family farm until 1968, when they moved to Milford.

Edith was a member of the Union Memorial Church and the Eastern Star. She was a lifetime member of the Westport Women's Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd in 2000; her parents; grandson, DeLon Range; brothers: Charles, Donald, Glen, and Orville; and sister, Estella Hein.

Edith is survived by two children: L. Kirby Range and wife, Barbara and LaVon Smith and husband, Al; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Turner Funeral Home.
