Mayda Mary Donaldson
Funeral services for Mrs. Mayda Mary Donaldson, 99 of Spencer, formerly of Webb will be held at 1:30 p.m. today Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Webb. Rev. Moody Colorado will officiate the service.
Casketbearers will be: Michael Bovee, Kal Bovee, David Donaldson, Brent Donaldson, Alan Donaldson and Brian Donaldson.
Honorary casket bearers will be: Linda Gray, Patti Pape, Mary Lawyer, Penni Natvig, Janice Donaldson and Peggi Pape.
Interment will take place at Garfield Cemetery of Webb.
Mayda passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Spencer Hospital.
Mayda, the daughter of Fred and Anna Brooks Hoppe, was born on January 9, 1908, in Germantown. Her childhood years were spent in Germantown, where she received her education.
On Nov. 17, 1927, Mayda married Floyd Donaldson in Aberdeen, S.D. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm east of Webb. During those years, she helped out on the farm with her husband. Following their retirement in 1984, they moved to a home in the community of Webb. They spent their winters for 25 years in McAllen, Texas. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Webb, where she was active with the United Methodist Women. Her last few years were spent in Riverview Terrace in Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Donaldson on Jan. 1, 1991; a son, Darrel Donaldson; her sisters: Clara, Rose, Esther, Louise, Lillian, Ella, Anna and Ida; and two brothers: Ernest and Raymond.
Mayda is survived by one son, Blaine Donaldson and his wife, Dorothea of Kingsley; two daughters; Beverly Bovee and her husband, Rodney of Webb, and Rhonda Pape and her husband, Lee of West Union; a sister-in-law, Edith Donaldson of Spencer; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Stewart of Spencer; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
