Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Edna Udorvich, 87 of Spencer will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at First Christian Church of Spencer. Rev. Cheri Gelner will officiate the service.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday with the family present from 6-8 p.m.

Casketbearers are: Edward Westerman, FloydWesterman, James Westerman, Gary Udorvich, Dennis Udorvich and James Janovick.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery of Spencer.

Bernice passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at St. Lukes Lutheran Home of Spencer.

Bernice, the daughter of Fredrich and Dora Lager Westerman, was born May 14, 1920 in Bingham Lake, Minn. Her childhood years were spent in Mountain Lake, MN and later moved to Arcadia, where she attended and graduated from Arcadia High School. After graduating from high school, she moved to Sioux City and received her degree at a business school.

Bernice married Nick Udorvich on Nov. 20, 1953 in Sioux City.  After their marriage, they made their home in Sioux City, where she worked as a secretary at the Sioux City Stockyards for 10 years.  She thoroughly enjoyed working for the three partners at the Stockyards (Brown, Goff and Foster). They moved to Spencer where the couple purchased Lindsay Soft Water and she worked as a secretary for 10 years, and later worked at St. Luke Lutheran Home in the office until her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Spencer, where she was active with the CWF. .

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Effie Stadtlander, Helen Chapman and Evelyn Eickholt; and a brother, Lester Westerman.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Nick of Spencer; one son, David Udorvich and his wife, Kathy of Cedar Park, Texas; one daughter, Debra Hinkelday and her husband, Craig of Spencer; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
