Accidents

* Ruth Lea Karl of Gillett Grove was traveling west at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 18, two miles east of Spencer, when her 1992 Chevrolet Blazer his a deer. Damage is estimated at $1,500.

* Elizabeth Ann Essick, 23, Spencer, was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway and Jeremy Joe Thompson, 26, Milford, was cited for driving while suspended following a two-car crash at 3 p.m. Tuesday near Highway Boulevard and 10th Street. Essick was pulling out from the Mediacom parking lot when her 1993 Dodge Intrepid went into the path of Thompson's 1995 Dodge Ram. A passenger in Thompson's vehicle, Ronald Lee Moore, 33, Arnolds Park, was taken to Spencer Hospital by ambulance with possible injuries. Damage to the Ram is estimated at $1,000. Damage to the Intrepid was estimated at $3,500.

* A driver of a legally parked Ford van came out at noon Tuesday to a parking lot near Pizza Ranch and reported damage to the left front quarter panel. There was a black pain transfer as a result of the hit-and-run incident. Damage is estimated at $1,000.

* Michael David Sharp, 58, Spencer, was charged with failure to obey a stop sign after a two-car crash 10:23 a.m. Tuesday near Highway 18 and 10th Avenue Southeast. Sharp's 2001 Mercury Sable pulled out into the path of a 2004 Chrysler Sebring driven by Patricia Louise Allen, 55, Pocahontas. The Mercury sustained $1,000 damage. The Chrysler sustained $1,500 damage.
