Allan L. Jones, of rural Sioux Rapids, and Tempe, Ariz., passed away on April 5, 2007, after a short illness.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 26, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
The son of Clyde F. Jones and Lucille Lawrence Jones, Allan was Born July 2, 1936, in rural Milford. He spent his elementary years on a farm outside of Milford until his family moved to rural Sioux Rapids where he attended high school in Cornell and Sioux Rapids. Allan graduated from Sioux Rapids High School in 1954.
Allan was married to Ruth Wilbur on Oct. 28, 1956, where they farmed north of Sioux Rapids. His life was spent farming, as an implement salesman, trucker, and auctioneer. Allan was a member of the Enterprise Masonic Lodge of Sioux Rapids.
Allan and Ruth had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last July and his 70th birthday.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lucille Jones; and an infant son.
Allan is survived by his wife, Ruth; their five children: Larry Jones and wife, Karen Jones of Fort Riley, Kansas, Dan Jones and wife, Colleen Jones of Ames, Susan Chonczynski and husband, George of Gilbert, Ariz., David Jones of San Leandro, Calif., and Jim Jones and wife, Tonya of Chandler, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; four brothers: Jerry, Clinton, Curtis, and John; and one sister, Barbara Mauer.
