Funeral services for Hazel May Crooks, 88 , of Lake Park, were held Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Turner Funeral Home in Milford. Rev. Chris Ebbers officiated the service.
Interment took place at Excelsior Township Cemetery.
Hazel passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Lake Park Care Center in Lake Park.
Hazel was born to William Wheeler and Lula May (Hester) Rowse in Correctionville on June 18, 1918. She graduated in 1937 from Moville High School at Moville.
On Nov. 23, 1939, she was united in marriage to Harley Clark Crooks and to this union three children -- Sharon, John and Jeff -- were born. The couple farmed south of Lake Park.
Hazel had been a resident of the Lake Park Care Center since 2001.
She was a member of the Methodist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sharon Sue Johnson; and brother, William Leonard Rowse.
Hazel is survived by two sons: John C. Crooks and his wife, Diane of St. Joseph, Mo., and Jeffrey L. Crooks and his wife, Cari of Spencer; brother, Charles Lee Rowse and his wife, Lois of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Turner Funeral Home of Milford was in charge of arrangements.
