Funeral mass for Ruth Ferne Dahlhauser, 91, of Spencer, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2007, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church of Algona. Rev. Paul Eisele will officiate the service.
Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday with a rosary at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery of Algona.
Casket bearers will be Scott Dahlhauser, Sean Dahlhauser, Jim Dahlhauser, Randy Aljets, Jerry Buscher and Matt Berte.
Ruth passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007, at the Spencer Hospital.
Ruth was born on Aug. 15, 1915, at Whittmore, to Bert and Mary Ellen (Killion) Muckey. She received her education at Algona, graduating from the Algona High School in 1934. After her schooling, Ruth worked as an operator for the telephone company in Algona. Ruth was married to Bernard Dahlhauser on June 1, 1937, at Algona. The couple lived in Algona, where they raised their family.
Ruth and Bernard moved to Spencer in 1976, where Ruth was an assistant bookkeeper for the Standard Oil Company. The couple retired in 1986.
Ruth was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer, where she belonged to the Altar Society. She was also a past member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Ruth was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Algona.
Ruth became a resident of the St. Luke's Lutheran Home in Spencer in November of 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard; her son, John Dahlhauser; her granddaughter, Joelle; and her great-grandchildren: Michael and Elaine; and her sister, Etheline Allis.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Judy Dahlhauser of Spencer; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Dahlhauser of Brooklyn.
