Funeral services for Betty Louise Bang, 68, of Spencer, will take place at 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Dickens United Methodist Church. Rev. Moody Colorado and Rev. Paul Hansen will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at Dickens Cemetery.

Betty passed away Monday, April 23, 2007, at Spencer Hospital.

Casket bearers will be David Hargrave, Randy Whalen, Vernon Flack, Angie Vanderhoff, Dan Hyde, and Bob Mortenson.

Honorary casket bearers will be Gary Bang, Jon Bang, Jerry Bang, Mason Schultz, Jennie LaGue and Eric Bang.

Betty, was born on March 2, 1939, in Palo Alto County, the daughter of Fred and Elsie (Jones) Flack. She received her early education and graduated from Lake Center High School in May of 1957. After graduation, she started working for the Spencer Telephone Company in October of 1957. She worked for 35 years before retiring. Betty was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when she was 38 years old.

Betty was a member of the Dickens United Methodist Church.  She was a resident of Longhouse for nine years where she made many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Debra; son Kenneth; and infant great-grandson.

Betty is survived by her son, Jon and his wife, Stephanie of Peterson; five grandsons; one granddaughter; four great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; five sisters: Arlene Hargrave and husband, Bill of Dickens, Lillian Whalen and husband, Melvin of Dickens, Marie Hyde and husband, Jim Hyde of Albuquerque, N.M., Frances Mortenson and husband, Keith of Dickens, and Linda Kenobbie and husband, Lyle of Greenville; and two brothers: Frank Flack and wife, Mary of Englewood, Colo., and Roscoe Flack and wife, Bobbie of Tecumseh, Mich.

Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
