Funeral services for Clara "Jean" Oestenstad, 77, of Spencer, were held Monday, April 23, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. The Rev. Paul Hansen officiated the 10:30 a.m. service.

Casket bearers were Kari Scarborough, Kimberly Nelson, Jacob Olin, Molly Olin and Joshua Olin.

Interment took place at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.

Jean passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Spencer Hospital.

Jean, the daughter of Arthur Roland and Ruth Elaine (Kiester) Moore, was born Dec. 25, 1929, in Bagley. Her childhood years were spent in Des Moines, where she received her education, graduating from Des Moines Valley High School in 1947. Following her schooling, she remained in Des Moines where she worked for a few years.

Jean married William R. Scarborough on Oct. 8, 1950, in West Des Moines. Following their marriage, they lived in Des Moines for a short time before moving to Spencer in 1954. The couple divorced while living in Spencer.

She married Reider Oestenstad on Nov. 29, 1968, in Jackson, Minn. Following their marriage, she continued working as a receptionist for Dr's. Fraser and Jones in Spencer for 23 years until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. Jean volunteered at the Spencer Hospital and RSVP.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jean is survived by one daughter, Karen  Olin and husband, Tom of Royal; one son, William Scarborough and his wife, Mary Ellen of Omaha, Neb.; and five grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
