Funeral services for Claire E. Scotlock, 89 of McMinnville, Ore. will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church of McMinnville.
Pastor John Ailstock is officiating.
Burial will be in Layton Cemetery in Yellville, Ark.
Claire passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Rock of Ages in McMinnville.
Claire was born July 19, 1917 in Spokane, Wash. to Howard and Alice (McMillan) Wilson. She grew up in Spencer and graduated from Iowa State in 1939 with a degree in Dietetics. She married Joseph Scoltock on Sept. 3, 1939 in Spencer. During WWII she lived in Los Angeles and after the war moved back to Spencer. She moved to Des Moines in 1960 where she and her husband owned and operated the A.B.C. Construction Directory. In 1970 the Scoltocks retired and moved to Yellville, Ark. Mr. Scoltock died in 1986. In 1980 Claire moved to McMinnville to be near her son. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and PEO. She was a member of a writing group in McMinnville and has written many books.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; sons: Hugh Scoltock and Jim Scoltock; brother, John Wilson; and sister, Jean Baily.
Claire is survived by her son, John Scoltock, MD of McMinnville; her sister, Alice Collum of Hadley, Mass.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
