Funeral services for Rodney John Haburn, 54 of Spencer will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 at Warner Chapel of Spencer. Rev. Tom Dettmer will officiate the service.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today and continue until 9 p.m. at Warner Funeral Home with family present from 7-8:30 p.m.

Casket bearers will be Cam Hatch, Lindsay Hatch, Roger Wright, David Wright, Mark Haburn, Shane Boles and Pat Blanchard.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery of Spencer.

Military services will be conducted by Glen Pedersen Post 1 - American Legion of Spencer.

Rodney passed away at home Monday, March 26, 2007.

Rodney, the son of Mervin "John" and Betty Ann Hanson Haburn, was born Aug. 6, 1952, in Cherokee.  He received his early education in Washta schools. His family moved to Spencer, Iowa, in 1961, where he continued his education, graduating from Spencer High School.  Rodney entered the military in 1970 and served his country with the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge in 1978. After his military service, he returned to Spencer where he attended Technical School in Sheldon. 

Rodney married Dianna Howard on June 30, 1984, in Spencer.  Following their marriage, they continued to live in Spencer where he worked for SnapOn Tools in Algona in Electronic Maintenance for the past 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Randal.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Dianna of Spencer; a daughter from a previous marriage, Jill Michelle Dean; three grandchildren; two brothers: Bradley and Bryan and his wife, Lori -- all of Spencer; and one sister, Pam Haburn of Smithland.

Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
