Funeral services were held Monday. March 19, 2007 at The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fort Dodge.
Interment took place at Memorial Park Cemetery.
George T Baxter was born on Sept. 4, 1953 in Spencer. He grew up in
Royal and graduated Clay Central High School in 1971. He was active in high
school football and track, being remembered as "Hard Nose Baxter" and later
went on to be a fire fighter. He graduated from Northwest Iowa Technical
College in 1973.
He later met his wife and eternal partner, whom he married on Oct. 25, 1988 and then moved his family to Fort Dodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George T. Baxter and E. Ruth (McGuire) Baxter; and his brothers: Walter and Richard Baxter.
George is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his children: Evelyn Summers, Ricky
Davie, Bryson Baxter, Robin Baxter Hancock, Cody Davie, Rusty Davie and
Tyler Baxter; and his siblings: Jean and Stan Tripp Jr., Sharon and Mikel
Eckhart, Fr. Thomas Baxter and Donald Baxter.
Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services were in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
