Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 4-6 p.m. at the Warner Funeral Home of Spencer.
Casket bearers will be Lanny Hanson, Randy Hansen, Terry Hansen, Curt Hansen, David Simington and Denny Hussey.
Interment will take place at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.
A lunch will be served following the committal service at the Ben Tena Room at Grace United Methodist Church.
Ruth passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Northshire Residence of Spencer.
Ruth, the daughter of Elmer and Carrie Kessler Nitzsche, was born April 5, 1918 in Spencer. Her childhood years were spent in the Langdon area, where she received her early education at Lake Center School and later graduated from Lake Center High School in 1936. Ruth worked for three years at the Fettes and Swallum Hospital in Spencer.
On Feb. 1, 1940, Ruth married Kenneth Kaus at the home of her parents in rural Spencer. Ruth and Kenneth farmed in the Langdon community for many years. She was an active member of the Langdon United Methodist Church and was a lifelong member of the Langdon UMW. Ruth was also a lifelong member of the Clay County Farm Bureau. She was also a lifelong member of the Langdon Progressive Club. She moved to Northshire Residence in Spencer in August of 2001.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth on March 18, 1997; a brother, Floyd Nitzsche; and a half sister, Lucille Downing.
Ruth is survived by one son, David Kaus and his wife, Debra of Spencer; two grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Chamberlain of Spencer; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Kaus of Charles City.
