Funeral services for Mrs. Kathryn Bauman, 83 of Spencer, formerly of Royal, will be held at 1 p.m., today, Friday, March 16, 2007 at Grace United Methodist Church of Spencer. Rev. Paul Hansen will officiate the service.

Casket bearers will be Todd Tirevold, Justin Bauman, Lucas Christensen, Weston Christensen, Jim Stanley, Dan Friend and Jason Eckrich.

Honorary bearers will be Deanna and Rodney Sako, Robin Bauman, Lisa Stanley, Jayme Bauman, Candace Stapleton, Lindsey Eckrich and Shari Tirevold.

Interment will take place at North Lawn Memorial Park of Spencer.

Kathryn passed away on Monday, March 12, 2007 at Riverview Terrace of Spencer.

Kathryn Rosalyn Bauman, the daughter of Thixton and Maude (Ferris) Miller, was born Jan. 14, 1924 in Clay County. Her childhood years were spent on a farm north of Royal. She attended and graduated from the Everly Consolidated School.

Kathryn married Warren Frank Bauman on Aug. 19, 1941 in rural Spencer. Following their marriage, they resided on the Bauman Family Farm, where they farmed until Warren's health forced them to retire in 1976. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Royal, where she was a Sunday school teacher, directed Sr. choir and worked with the youth. She also was active in 4-H, enjoyed sewing and teaching it.

Kathryn moved to Spencer in 1996 and then to Riverview Terrace in 2005. Kathryn was currently a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson, Daniel and three sisters.

Kathryn is survived by her two sons: Ronald Bauman and his wife, Nancy of Kaunakakai, Hawaii and Dennis Bauman and his wife, Susan of Lewistown, Mont.; two daughters: Natalie Kay Tirevold of Albert City, and Tamman Christensen and her husband, James of Spencer; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Janice Chamberlain of Springfield, Ill.; and one brother, Thixton Miller, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Springfield, Ill.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
