William E. Householder
Funeral services for William E. Householder, 85 of Spencer will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Fenton. Rev. Judy DePue will officiate the service.
Visitiation will be from 5-7 p.m. tonight at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel.
Interment will take place at First United Methodist Cemetery of Fenton. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 0627 of Fenton.
William passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at St. Luke Care Center in Spencer.
He lived near Lone Rock and attended school in Lone Rock. After school he drove truck for two of his brothers, Glen and Everett. He was united in marriage to Iris Zwiefel on Aug. 24, 1942, and lived in Fenton their entire lives.
William was known by everyone as "Bill" or "Little Bill." He served in the Navy in WWII from 1943 through 1945. Upon returning from the Navy he started his own trucking business: he hauled for Pioneer Seed Corn and hauled gravel for most of the roads in the State of Iowa. Later in life he bought a "Mack" semi and hauled throughout the United States until retiring due to his health. Bill and Iris loved to go fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Iris in 2000; an infant son, Wade; one great-grandson, Jeremy; his parents; and three brothers and five sisters, Calvin, Glenn, Everett, Ruth, Lora Belle, Florence, Lillian and Margaret.
William is surviveed by his children, Rebecca Stulen of Spencer; Warren Householder and his wife, Jean of Whittemore,; Rose Vaudt and her husband, Kent of Valpariso, Indiana; and Wayne Householder and his wife, Cheryl of Rapid City, South Dakota; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
