The Spencer girls held on to a closely-fought game Tuesday night over Emmetsburg at the Spencer Fieldhouse, 36-31. The Tigers swept the season series with Emmetsburg and improved to 9-7 overall and 5-5 in the Lakes. The Spencer girls defeated Emmetsburg for the second time this season in a 36-31 win at the Spencer Fieldhouse Tuesday, Jan. 24. Alexa Allen hit three 3-pointers as the Tigers improved to 9-7 overall and 5-5 in the Lakes Conference. Defensively, Spencer held the E-Hawks to 37 percent shooting and forced 25 turnovers. Only three E-Hawks scored in the game, led by Faith Schmidt's 13 points. Paige Naig added 11 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks...

Spencer High School will be hosting the Lakes Conference wrestling tournament on Friday, Jan. 27. The North and South ticket entrances to the Field House will open at 4:00 p.m. with wrestling action starting at 5:00 p.m. The championship round will start at approximately 8:15 p.m. Spencer student activity tickets, adult worker's passes, senior citizen passes will not be honored on the for admission to the tournament.
