Remember Ethan Couch, the Texas teen who entered a guilty plea after killing four people in a drunk driving accident to 2013, only to receive probation when his attorney argued "affluenza" as a defense. What is affluenza you ask - why it's a social condition which makes him lose his sense of consequences of actions because he was coddled by affluent parents from a young age. Because of his juvenile status and because the court system bought into his crock of a defense, instead of receiving a REAL sentence, he got 10 years probation - and he couldn't even do that successfully. So after he failed to show up for a meeting with his probation officer in early December, a warrant was issued for his arrest. Seems as if Ethan and mommy left the country following a video clip of him at a party with alcohol - a violation of his parole - showed up. Logically, rather than requiring her son to stand and face the consequences for his behavior, she apparently whisked him away. Well Couch was recently nabbed in a resort community in Mexico. I'm wondering just how well affluency is going to sell down there. The attorney who used the affluency argument should be disbarred, the mom should have her rear-end kicked, the jury and judge who allowed it should be required to take a urinalysis and undergo a CAT scan for brain damage and Couch himself needs to pay the price he should have paid back in 2013. Justice must be served. Obviously this kid has learned nothing ... but let's be honest, look at who he's taking his direction from.
