Be part of the process

While GOP presidential hopefuls have been making appearances at various locations around the state -- a vast majority of which are in Des Moines or east -- Spencer will get its first visitors this week when South Carolina Sen. Lindsay Graham and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal stop in town for a pair of meet and greets this week. Graham will be at the Spencer Dream Center from 8:30-9:15 a.m. Thursday and Jindal plans to stop by Gary's on the River from 5:30-7 p.m. Friday. On Wednesday evening, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul will be appearing at the Barefoot Bar in Okoboji. Iowa is very unique in terms of the ability its citizens have to access presidential candidates because of the importance the Iowa Caucuses play in getting things rolling in the presidential race. People in other states are envious of the opportunity that Iowans get for face-to-face interaction with the candidates. Thursday and Friday offer the first opportunities to shake hands and ask questions. Be part of this very special process.
