Meeting Rep. Bachmann

Posted Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at 11:47 AM

After joining Living Word Outreach Ministry for its service Sunday morning - a service which featured Republican Presidential hopeful Rep. Michele Bachmann offering her own personal message of praise - I had an opportunity to join the Congresswoman on her tour bus for a few minutes and ask a few questions.

She's quite engaging, but even more important, she's a woman who has put her money where he mouth is when it comes to walking the talk of her Christian faith.

She and her husband hosted and assisted unwed mothers and have taken in 23 foster children, while also raising 5 children of their own.

As a young child in a lower income home of divorced parents, her mother provided an example of hard work and faith, giving her a foundation for the Christian walk she would maintain to this point in her life.

Regardless of where you stand on her politics - and I know we all share a variety of perspectives - her dedication and commitment to assist others in times of need and crisis cannot be questioned. She has an amazing heart for others and a great love for this country.

She's neither crazy or a wacko as the media would have you believe.

She's a strong, intelligent self-made woman.

If she were liberal and believed in yanking babies from a mothers womb and snuffing out their inconvenient existence, she'd be a celebrated media darling. Unfortunately, she happens to be a conservative who happens to believe that killing the unborn is unacceptable and publicly professes her faith in God's plan for this country. That makes her public enemy number one in popular culture.

Finally, a true Christian in the press and not afraid to let it be known. I have had my doubts as of late. Obviously, you have some popular culture right there is Spencer, go figure.

I have to agree with Cookster. Honestly, I'm not pro-abortion either, but implying that all liberals believe in "yanking babies from a mothers womb and snuffing out their inconvenient existence" as a weekend pasttime is ridiculous. As a Christian, I have to say that your past two columns have crossed the line; are you blogging for the Daily Reporter or TBN?

I'm sorry notinia, please show me where I implied all liberals believe in yanking etc ect. I said if she were a liberal and believed that yanking etc etc. The combination of the two. I never suggested all liberals believe that. As a matter of fact I know many who don't.
