  • I agree but how do we get politicians to vote cuts for themselves? Steve King (I'm sure you support him) has voted raises for himself everytime it comes up. How do we stop this?

  • As an Iraq war veteran, Army combat nurse, mother of two Marines, and military officer, I continue to remain repulsed and dismayed with the general hypocritical, self-centered, and Constitution ignoring actions of those elected to represent "We the People". George Washington understood himself to be the President of a Republic in which the people, through their elected representatives in Congress, make laws. As the chief executive, Washington recognized that his constitutional charge was to take care that "the laws be faithfully executed." What a contrast to our current administration today. We have in the White House a President who selectively enforces the laws of the land. For example:

Abdicating the Administration's duty to defend and enforce federal laws.

Gutting the work requirement from welfare reform.

Implementing the DREAM ACT granting amnesty to some illegal immigrants by executive fiat.

Meanwhile our sons and daughters who have proudly served our nation and our flag by their military service, are being used as pawns by our politicians rather than being received and treated as the American hero's they are. I can only pray, communicate and vote.
