Votes not counted.

Posted Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at 10:53 AM

I just spoke to my brother who is currently serving a tour in Afghanistan. He requested with plenty of time allowed, his absentee ballot from the State of Kansas where he resides when not deployed. Election day rolled around and he has not recieved his ballot. He has served 3 tours of duty in Iraq and now in Afghanistan. He fights for the right that we are guaranteed to exercise today and yet he was denied that very same right. Who in Kansas, screwed this up? What are the repurcussions? How many times has this happened today? If his vote and thousands more like him are not counted, can it change the election? You bet it could and it makes me ask again, was it on purpose? After so many years of soldiers being deployed and needing absentee ballots, why is this process not a proven process so that their votes can be counted too?

If people in space that work for NASA can vote while they are not on Earth, why can't the people fighting for our country vote!

He might not have gotten a ballot because of the new voter ID law in Kansas. Did he send a photo copy of his ID with his application for a absentee ballot?

It's not so funny how military ballots seem to get lost to and from those serving.

Put in your search engine "military ballots of 2012" you will see many stories of what might of happened. I also read somewhere that a lot of ballots burned up in a plane crash. Who knows!

My name is Leah Cauthron. I was born and raised on a farm near Cushing, Iowa. My parents still live there. I am a conservative Catholic. I have been married to Randy for 22 years and we have six children. I received my degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern Wyoming College and as a mother of six and a daycare mom, I have used probable cause, reasonable doubt, search and seizure, Miranda rights, submission, arrest and interrogation technique as a part of my daily life. I can also shoot a .357 magnum with deadly accuracy. I have lots of opinions on lots of things. I am not an expert on anything but I read a lot and will gladly share that information if I find it accurate. I have a sarcastic nature and for the most part I have pretty thick skin and most things don't bother me for long. I don't like mudslinging or name calling so keep negativity of the personal nature to yourself. Enjoy and welcome to my opinion.
