The Dugger family is expecting their 20th child. Wow! I think its awesome for them. They are an inspiration as to their faith, their family life, their commitment to each other and to their children. They have made a choice for life and have accepted the struggles and joys that go with that. They seem to love each other very much and they seem to have a handle on their family life. It works for them. It may not work for everyone but it does for them. I am sad about the negative responses to their joyful news.

I have six children and I cannot count the number of times that someone has so rudely said to me, "Are you done yet?" "Do you know what causes that?" "Is this your last one?" I wonder if anyone has stood outside an abortion clinic and asked those same questions in that context, "Are you done yet?" "Do you know what causes that?" "Is this your last one?"

Would people be appalled at a gay couple who chooses to adopt 20 kids? I think not. They would be applauded I'm sure.

I say, more power to you Dugger's. God Bless you and I wish you the best always. What do you say?

Not trying to "nitpick" and not acknowledging whether I would or would not be appalled by a gay couple adopting 20 children but...

You imply in the article that you would not be appalled by a gay couple adopting 20 children while at the same time in your bio to the right you refer to yourself as a "conservative Catholic."

To me, there is a divergence in ideology. One is not much of a conservative Catholic when their own stance on such a topic flies in the face of the churches official stance on said topic. If you are unaware of the churches stance and doubt that they stand AGAINST gay adoption here is a link which addresses the topic, and there are more online I just chose the first one I can across:

Thanks for reading.

My point was the same people who ridicule the Dugger's for having 20 kids would probably not have a problem with a gay couple adopting 20 kids simply because they were gay and that's the "in" thing. I'm not sure where I stand on that issue. This blog was a result of many negative comments that I read on Facebook regarding the Dugger's.

I believe that adopting 20 children is far better than putting any woman through bearing that many children, even though I know that Mrs. Duggar is willing. I hope that this pregnancy goes full term.

Its funny that if you had 20 dogs or cats your a hoarder but you can stockpile children! They should have stopped having children when they became Grandparents. Just because you can doesnt mean you should! I guess it makes for ratings though.

My name is Leah Cauthron. I was born and raised on a farm near Cushing, Iowa. My parents still live there. I am a conservative Catholic. I have been married to Randy for 22 years and we have six children. I received my degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern Wyoming College and as a mother of six and a daycare mom, I have used probable cause, reasonable doubt, search and seizure, Miranda rights, submission, arrest and interrogation technique as a part of my daily life. I can also shoot a .357 magnum with deadly accuracy. I have lots of opinions on lots of things. I am not an expert on anything but I read a lot and will gladly share that information if I find it accurate. I have a sarcastic nature and for the most part I have pretty thick skin and most things don't bother me for long. I don't like mudslinging or name calling so keep negativity of the personal nature to yourself. Enjoy and welcome to my opinion.
