"Groundbreaking Reads" at Spencer Public Library

May is an exciting time for adults at the library. Summer is right around the corner and the library is eagerly anticipating a busy one.
Ah...summer! Wonderful weather, kids off at camp, and ...reading as many books as you can for chances to win fabulous prizes at Spencer Public Library's Adult Summer Reading Program. That's right, the Adult Summer Reading Program is returning for a second summer. Last year we had almost 300 adults join our program and the library is preparing for another "Groundbreaking" summer. This year we are offering numerous program such as, "Butterfly Gardening", "What Lies Beneath: Exploring the World's Underground Cities", "Coined by Shakespeare", "Iowa Archeology", "Growing Spuds in Your Duds", and more. Participants who finish the program (read three books) will be invited to our 1920's "Speakeasy" finale party.
So join us this summer for lots of reading and great programs. The more you read, the more chances you have to win! Registration is all day May 30 & 31 at Spencer Public Library. As always, participation and programs are free of charge. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Robin at 580-7290. Also, you can connect with the library online at facebook.com/SpencerPublicLibrary, twitter.com/SpencerLibrary and spencerlibrary.tumblr.com.
