  • There is no letting kids be kids anymore in Spencer, Iowa. Monitor and comply are the watch words now.

  • My name is Lucas Carstensen I for one ride this park when I can and its my dream to ride bmx. I'm good at it, I'm a huge influence on these kids but since I've been kicked out for riding in there the kids have become out of hand! We need more adult figures like myself there to watch what these kids can do. I teach them how to ride, and what do we get out of it? Their parents get a ticket to pay, not the innoccent little kid for riding a bike in a park. Their funding for this is outrageous! We should be spending money on this town in ways that bring this town more good people. If riding a bike in a park is more important then busting drug dealers, and publicly serving our community with paper's/warrant's then I'll be glad to leave this town. I've been verbally assaulted by officers at that park just for riding there! I've rode alot of skateparks around Iowa and other states around the area and never once have I see such arrogance out of police officers. I'm almost 22 now and I've been riding this park since I was a kid. I've had well over 10 tickets and when I was young my parents helped pay them, so take a second and think how many parents really want to pay a fine for their kids to ride their expensive bikes.
