Uganda? You Gotta be kidding me is right
I went to the library as always searching for a good read. Instead, I found myself in the writing section picking up books to help improve my writing capabilities. On the way out, I caught sight of a book with Chelsea Handler. I used to be a fan of hers for her talk show Chelsea Lately, but her mouth proved to be much more filth than I could handle. Not to mention her ego was helping her sell out in my opinion but hey happens to everyone in the biz right? I noticed at the top of this new book, it declared her to be New York Times Bestseller. So, this generated my curiosity even further as to why and how she could be such a successful writer. Research right?
Wrong. "Uganda be kidding me", turned out to be no more than a journal of someone obsessed with pushing the envelope to make a quick buck. I have never read a book that talks more about drinking accompanied with pictures of herself "peeing" in public places or in the "wild" safari they were on. How in the heck does that qualify someone to be a best seller? Have people truly lost the desire to read stories that contain substance and quality? Not to mention she plans on taking this book on tour! Hopefully, she won't be peeing on stage to add to the feel of what this book brings to readers.
I'm very thankful I have found this book though. I now have an exact idea of audiences I do not want to cater to with my writing and will further have a better understanding of what not to do when writing. Thanks Chelsea. You can remain on New York's list because it so apparently clear that you deserve to be there!
