Are you Serious?

Posted Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 8:13 PM

How is it possible that Americans have become so greedy and hungry for the almighty dollar that they forget to behave like decent human beings? A new lawsuit has come forward in the Connecticut shooting. An unidentified client is taking legal action in the demands of $100 million dollars because " the client (child) heard cursing, screaming, and shooting over the intercom when the gunman opened fire and as a consequence the child has sustained emotional and psychological trauma and injury, the nature and extent of which are yet to be determined "quoted lawyer Irv Pinsky.

Are you serious?

That child and parent, and this is going to sound harsh, should thank their lucky stars that psychological trauma is the only thing obtained rather than death itself. I don't know if they are aware but their child was not the only one in that school that day. Should everyone sue? Everyone in that building was severely traumatized, what makes this so different? I am sorry but the parents of this child should be ashamed that "money" has become more important than the appreciation and thankfulness that they still have a child to hold in their arms. Others weren't so lucky!

This lawsuit is shameful, hurtful, and above all a scam. Don't ever use your child or tragic event affecting more than just your family as a get rich quick scheme!

Agreed and shame on any attorney who takes on such a case. Who's going to pay? The school, the police, the gun manufacturer...? Where does it end?

The case has been dropped by the attorney. He has informed the parents he is not going forward with it.

My name is Alyce Townsend. I have lived in Spencer, Iowa for the last 6 and half years. I'm originally a small town girl from Primghar but moved to Spencer because of the big city shopping with small town appeal. Okay, maybe that's not the whole truth. I hate driving in snow. Living in Spencer allows me to never have to leave town in the winter! I'm a 26 year old mother of three children ages 6, 5, and 4. Yes, that's how old they are. Yes, I know. Please stop laughing. I am currently enrolled in Iowa Lakes Community College for my Business Degree with hopes for someday having my own online clothing store. When I'm not doing homework, chasing kids, or cleaning house I love to write. Writing is my release and I currently have been working on screenplays I hope will someday become Oscar worthy motion pictures. I must warn you that I do at times have a twisted sense of humor, so I hope that when reading my blogs of whatever topic I may joke about, you leave with a smile and a whole new perspective!
