After plenty of teasers, it looks like spring may actually be here.
Hopefully, we've seen our last snow until at least October.
I'll take May rain over April snow any day, unless it floods out the disc golf course at West Leach Park.
Disc golf is probably my favorite outdoor activity. I've donned swim trunks and played when the course was flooded. I've also bundled up and trudged through snow to play.
Nevertheless, spring is the best time to play. It's not too hot or too cold, so if the wind stays at bay, the conditions are perfect.
My game, on the other hand, is far from perfect. While my friends shoot for under par, my best nine-hole score is five over par.
Regardless of my ability, or lack thereof, I enjoy the sport.
Basketball and volleyball are a couple other sports I like but don't play well.
A couple friends also got me out hitting softballs last weekend. I didn't grow up with a bat in my hands like they did, so it took a while but, by the end of the day, I was connecting more than I was whiffing.
Speaking of whiffing, I got some golf clubs from a friend and am looking for a patient coach.
Basically, I'm just trying to capitalize on the beautiful weather that spring and summer have to offer.
What outdoor activities are you getting into now that the weather is cooperating?
