What gives you hope?

Posted Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at 12:17 PM

Sometimes it's hard to stay positive. Life gets you down in various ways. Shorter days often give people the blues. This upcoming holiday storm probably has people fretting that their holiday plans and visits with loved ones will be cancelled.

I found a website that helps chase the blues away: GivesMeHope

I don't think that it's possible to read the stories on there and not feel better. The anecdotes range from small acts of kindness to those to risked their lives to help somebody else.

So, what gives you hope?

Children being born gives me hope. Mothers choosing life over death in a society that tell them it's ok to choose the easy way out. St. Luke's in Sioux City set a record for births this year. That is God's handiwork to be sure.
