Do you Twitter? Will you reTweet this?Posted Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at 9:04 PM
I Twitter. So what?
It's this contest. If I win, it will bring fame and minor fortune to the Spencer Daily Reporter area. Mostly to me, yes, but I would promote Spencer and Fostoria to the extent I could. It is a major essay contest with prizes of $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000 and twenty additional winners published in a book put out by the Seven Fund, which is a really big deal think tank. Are you going to win? There were 2,200 entries so the odds are -- no. However, at this point I am not sure. I have not been financially fortunate even once during my adult life so it's hard for me to believe it's possible. However, I am a finalist author, one of the top 40 or so -- I have a great feeling I will at least be in a book. Getting into a book of this caliber would possibly open up nonfiction book deals and other things for my career. I would make sure this fame and fortune benefited the community at large in some way. So what do I do? Go here: http://www.moralityofprofit.com/a-core-e... You will see a micro-excerpt of my essay. Comment below if you want to read the whole thing. I don't want to pre-publish it before the contest ends (July 1!) and the book comes out. At the top of the page you will see three buttons: reTweet, Google Buzz, and Facebook. Choose one and follow the couple of steps to post it. My understanding is you can post it as many times as you like between now and July 1. What is this for again? It won't win me the $20,000 but it will get me into the book for sure, after an editing session with some of the celebrity thought leader editors who will also be in the book. It's enough of an honor to be in the book that I believe it could lead to a real book deal for more of my nonfiction. You mean all the stuff you go on and on about in these blogs? Yes. There are people out there who tell me they enjoy a longer piece they can really get into and wrap their minds around. The book would be for those people. Thank you for any reTweeting, Facebooking or Google Buzzing you find time to do. I'm honored for the chance to bring some little fame to Clay County if it all works out. Question...
The winner of the contest is the one who gets their essay reposted the most??
I gave you my 3 points!! If that's all there is to it, I'll have my people tweet your people. :)
The winner of this contest-within-the-contest is the one who gets their essay reposted the most. That contest is inclusion in the book for sure with help shaping and editing the essay by celebrities in the fields of economics, philanthropy, etc. who are already in the book.
The $20,000, etc. goes to the essay judged the best by the judges without regard to the page traffic.
Thank you!!!
Amy
Hope you did well in the competition and meet your goal!
