    SPENCER — A close contest on Tuesday at the Spencer Golf and Country Club between the Tigers and the Estherville-Lincoln Central Midgets on the course. Two low scores from Ryan Schiltz, 35, and Blake Ingvall, 39, propelled Estherville to the five-stroke victory over Spencer.     DES MOINES — Marking the dawn of high school girls wrestling becoming an official sport in the state of Iowa beginning in the 2022-23 school year, Spencer continued to perform with those on top of the growing sport. Girls wresting coach Dave Storm has been working with this group of girls to prepare for what’s coming next. Recently, Krystol Luna, Kaylee Nachtigal, Shaylee Sutherland, Kailee Spencer and other Tiger grapplers competed in the Twin Rivers Tournament in Des Moines.

    Tigers dominate Indians on road court
    SPIRIT LAKE — Spencer has been dominating boys tennis thus far this season. The fourth-ranked Tigers had to travel north on Thursday to face off against the Spirit Lake Indians. Spencer came out on top 9-0 in the match, improving to 7-0 on the season and 5-0 in the Lakes Conference.

    Spirit Lake too much for Tiger girls
    SPENCER — The fourth-ranked Indians came to town on Thursday to face off against Spencer at Riverview Tennis Courts. It was a very windy afternoon for some tennis and in the end Spirit Lake was too much to handle for the Tigers. The Indians defeated Spencer 6-3 in the contest, improving to 11-1 on the season, dropping Spencer to 9-3.

    2-day delay can’t slow Lakers
    ESTHERVILLE — After a weather delay, the Iowa Lakes Softball team earned themselves a sweep over North Iowa Area Community College. The Lakers took game one 24-1 in five innings and game two 15-0 in five innings. Iowa Lakes is now 34-10-1 overall and 15-7 in conference play.
